Kpandai seat dispute: NPP backs Nyindam as case heads to supreme court
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reaffirmed its full backing for Kpandai Member of Parliament Matthew Nyindam as he contests the court ruling that overturned his parliamentary victory.
Addressing journalists in Accra on Tuesday, December 9,2025 National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye stressed that the party remains firmly aligned with Nyindam throughout the legal dispute.
According to him, the party considers Nyindam’s battle a collective one, assuring supporters that the MP has the unwavering solidarity of the entire NPP. He urged the legislator and his constituents to remain resolute, adding that the party will stand by him through every phase of the litigation.
“We are at the appellate stage, and we are awaiting the next steps. The Supreme Court has fixed December 16 to hear the matter. From here, it rests in the hands of the lawyers. Whatever direction the process takes, I believe God is in control. Everyone has a destiny, and wherever mine leads, I will accept it,” he remarked.
The dispute stems from a decision by the Tamale High Court, which nullified his election and ordered a fresh poll in the Kpandai Constituency within 30 days. Following the judgment, Parliament officially informed the Electoral Commission of the vacancy.
Reassuring the MP, Henry Nana Boakye declared that the party remains committed to supporting him relentlessly: NPP, he said, will accompany him through every legal step, ready to contest the matter in all appropriate forums.
