The Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Edudzi Tamaklo, has taken a swipe at former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame, accusing him of lacking integrity in his handling of the ongoing legal case involving then Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Thursday, Mr. Tamakloe reacted to recent comments attributed to Mr. Dame, who reportedly called on “good men” to speak up in the face of growing controversy surrounding the suspension of the Chief Justice, Getrude Torkonoo.

“Life indeed is a school. This young man was hell-bent on securing a conviction against Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, now Minister of Finance and acted without a modicum of conscience,” Mr. Tamakloe said. 7

“Good men, please talk now. I just remembered that Godfred is not a good example.”

The remarks appear to reference the recent public and political debate surrounding the suspension of the Chief Justice after President John Dramani Mahama, in consultation with the Council of State, established a prima facie case against her

He reminded Mr Dame that during the trial of Dr. Ato Forson,  over the alleged financial loss to the state in the procurement of ambulances during his tenure as Deputy Finance Minister.

Mr. Tamakloe’s comments add to the mounting criticism from members of the NDC, who have consistently maintained that the case against the Minority Leader was politically motivated.
