Mahama, NDC COVID team donate to South Tongu district

The donation was made to help the district contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, after Sogakope recorded its first case on Wednesday, 27 May 2020.
The team, led by former Minister of Health Alex Segbefia and South Tongu Member of Parliament Kobla Mensah Woyome, presented 30 fully-equipped PPE (goggles, overalls, face masks, sanitisers, scrubs), 30 boots, 2,000 gloves and a number of face masks to the district hospital.
Speaking at a short ceremony in Sogakope to do the presentation, Mr Segbefia said: “It is accurate to say that what we bring today is actually not a lot but in the case of an emergency situation, we hope this will go a long way to help the district hospital till such time that the government supplies arrive.”
The Volta Region, as of 28 May 2020 had a total number of 60 recorded cases, with the national tally for COVID-19 cases in Ghana being 7,303.
