Mahama’s visit to UG’s 'Vandal City' thrills students

The flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama's recent visit to the University of Ghana's Commonwealth Hall ignited excitement and joy among students.
Accompanied by John Dumelo, the NDC Parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the 2024 elections, and other party executives, Mr. Mahama’s visit was part of a working tour of the constituency.
During his visit, Mr. Mahama returned to his former room, A32, where he resided as a history undergraduate student.
The atmosphere in the Vandal City, was electric as students chanted songs including the ‘Mahama Onaapo’ campaign song in support of the former president.
Videos shared on social media captured Mr. Mahama's ecstatic interaction with the students, joining them in a lively 'jama' session.
The visit provided Mr. Mahama with an opportunity to directly connect with the students and listen to their concerns.
He pledged that the next NDC government would collaborate with the private sector to construct more hostels, addressing the pressing accommodation crisis on campus.
