Min. of Comms.: Sam George appears before Appointments Committee Thurs. Jan. 30

Sam George's vetting is fast approaching.
On Thursday, January 30, 2025, the Ningo Prampram will appear before Parliament's Appointments Committee.
Sam George has been appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as the the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, for which he will be vetted and hopes of approval.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart has served as the Ningo-Prampram MP since 2016.
During President Mahama's previous tenure, Sam George, affectionately called Dzata, served at the Communications Directorate at the Presidency.
The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations is tasked with:
1. Digital Infrastructure Development: Expanding and enhancing Ghana’s digital infrastructure to support economic growth.
2. Policy Formulation: Developing policies that foster innovation and regulate the digital space effectively.
3. Cybersecurity: Implementing measures to protect national digital assets and personal data.
4. Digital Inclusion: Ensuring equitable access to digital technologies across all regions.
