NDC Legal Director thanks God for party’s election victory
The Director of Legal Affairs of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, has expressed profound gratitude to God for what he described as the party’s “overwhelming and unimaginable” victory in last year’s general election.
Reflecting on the anniversary of the December 7 polls, Mr. Tameklo said the NDC leadership had worked tirelessly to secure a win for their presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, but acknowledged that the scale of the victory, in his view, was due to divine favour.
“A year ago, we had plans on how to win an election.
We had spent days convincing people to vote for our presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
God, You just didn’t give us victory but an overwhelming victory beyond our imaginations.
Father, we thank You,” he said. He expressed this gratitude in a statement hosted on his Facebook wall.
Mr. Tameklo further prayed for continued guidance for the governing party, asking God to help the leadership remain focused on fulfilling the expectations of the millions of Ghanaians who voted for them in the 2024 elections.
“Father, help us to remember every day why people overwhelmingly voted for us,” he added.
His remarks come as the NDC celebrates one year in government under President Mahama’s #ResettingGhana agenda, which the administration says is aimed at rebuilding national institutions, restoring economic stability and addressing social inequalities.
