NPP decides today: Polls give Bawumia lead but Ken promises showdown

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is set to conduct its presidential primaries today, Saturday, November 4, 2023, in preparation for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
With over 200,000 party delegates poised to participate in this crucial poll, the party's choice of flagbearer will be a pivotal decision as they seek to break the eight-year election cycle jinx.
The candidates vying for the NPP's presidential slot include Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is widely seen as the frontrunner. Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has promised a show down.
Additionally, former Minister for Agriculture Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto and former Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh are also in the race, adding further depth to the contest.
This presidential primary marks a crucial step for the NPP as they work towards selecting a candidate to lead their party in the 2024 general elections.
The outcome will have far-reaching implications as they aim to secure victory in a bid to overcome the eight-year election cycle challenge.
