NPP hauls Owusu Bempah to disciplinary committee

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against its Deputy Director of Communications, Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah, for allegedly breaching internal party directives through comments made on social media.
In a statement released by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP expressed concern over remarks attributed to Mr. Bempah, which are believed to have contravened a recent directive urging all members to refrain from public commentary likely to cause disaffection within the party.
The directive, referenced NPP/HQ/PR/2025/03/DAM, forms part of the party’s broader efforts to maintain internal cohesion and discipline as it navigates the political season.
“Following the directives issued to all members of the Party to cease discussions on matters that create disaffection within the party in the media, Mr. Owusu Bempah has made several comments on social media which are suspected to be in contravention of those directives,” the statement read.
As a result, Mr. Owusu Bempah has been referred to the NPP’s National Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and appropriate action.
The party’s leadership emphasised its commitment to upholding discipline and unity, warning that similar breaches by any member would be dealt with in accordance with party rules.
The outcome of the disciplinary process is expected in the coming weeks.
