NPP lifts suspension on Kwabena Agyapong

Former General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Kwabena Agyapong, has been reinstated into the party following his years of suspension along with then-Chairman Paul Afoko and second vice-chair Sammy Crabbe for acting unilaterally without authorisation from the National Executive Committee.
The three men were suspended in the lead-up to the 2016 general elections.
However, the NEC, after a meeting, pardoned Mr Agyapong and welcomed him back into the fold of the party.
Mr Agyapong consequently becomes a member of NEC, Steering Committee, and the National Council.
Mr Agyapong toured the country with President Nana Akufo-Addo in the lead-up to the 2020 general elections.
