NPP polls: Wontumi’s car runs into supporters at Baba Yara stadium
The Ashanti Region Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party, Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, had his vehicle accidentally run into some party supporters at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi during the NPP’s regional delegates conference on Saturday, 28 May 2022.
Chairman Wontumi, who was seeking re-election, was standing in his vehicle to wave at his supporters who had gathered at the entrance of the stadium.
The vehicle, however, lost control, running into the supporters who had to flee for dear life.
Meanwhile, the Ashanti Regional Chairman has retained his position.
He beat his main contender, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah also known as Coka, to retain the Ashanti Regional Chairman position.
