Leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku, has called on party members to embrace humility, tolerance, and mutual respect as the party embarks on its rebuilding process and national "Thank You" tour.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Dr. Opoku emphasised the need for responsible communication and respectful engagement among all factions of the party, urging members to avoid “needless accusations and counter-responses” that could tarnish the public image of the NPP.

“The spoken words of a poor person should be devoid of arrogance, and the spoken words of a wealthy person should be devoid of pride,” he wrote.

“Both the rich and poor have the right to speak, but their respective utterances should be seasoned with salt and guided by responsibility.”

Dr. Opoku drew on moral and social principles to underscore his message, advocating for humility from the less privileged and meekness from the more affluent.

He stressed that the rebuilding process must be anchored in mutual respect, urging the strong to protect the weak and the elderly to appreciate the youth.

Addressing party unity from a broader social lens, he called on subordinates within the party to safeguard the interests of their leaders while encouraging those in leadership to elevate and empower their subordinates.

“It is as simple as that,” he stated.

The call comes at a time when internal discussions within the NPP have grown increasingly animated following the 2024 general elections.

Dr. Opoku's remarks are seen as part of a wider effort to consolidate party cohesion and maintain a unified front ahead of future political engagements.
