#NPP2020: “Bantama has spoken; I accept the results” – Defeated Okyem Aboagye
The incumbent Member of Parliament for Bantama in the Ashanti Region, Mr Daniel Okyem Aboagye, has said he accepts the results of the parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency in which he lost to Mr Francis Asenso-Boajye, a Deputy Chief of Staff, on Saturday, 20 June 2020.
He said the delegates have spoken and he will respect the results.
“This is a contest and Asenso-Boakye has won. I accept the results,” Mr Okyem Aboagye told journalists after the results were declared by the EC.
“I have congratulated Asenso-Boakye and I will support him”, adding: “This is politics”.
“We have to bring our people together ahead of the December 7 general elections,” he added.
