"Outrageous lie"; Jean Mensa's husband has no links to Persol Systems Limited – EC
The Electoral Commission (EC) has denied reports that Persol Systems Limited, the company it contracted to construct a new Production and Disaster Recovery Data Centre, belongs to the husband of the Chairperson of the election management body.
The EC said the report is an “outrageous lie” since Persol Systems Limited has no links whatsoever to Mrs Jean Mensa and her husband.
The EC, in a statement, called on the public to disregard the report and treat it with contempt.
“In the lead-up to the general elections in December, the EC is mindful of the fact that there will be attempts by sections of the society to malign the integrity and credibility of the chairperson, her deputies and the commission,” the statement said.
The EC has called on Ghanaians to verify the owners of Persol Systems Limited at the Registrar Generals Department.
The new Production and Disaster Recovery Data Centre has become necessary as the EC prepares to compile a new register of voters ahead of the December polls.
