Paul Afoko declares bid for NPP National Chairmanship slot after years of being suspended as chairman
The spokesperson for former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Nana Yaw Osei, has confirmed that Paul Afoko has formally declared his intention to contest for the party’s National Chairmanship position in the upcoming national officers’ election.
According to him, Mr. Afoko’s decision is driven by a commitment to restore the NPP to its founding values and uphold the party’s core democratic principles.
Speaking on The Citizen Show with Nana Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Accra 100.5 FM on October 28, 2025, Lawyer Osei stated that Mr. Afoko has reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the New Patriotic Party despite previous challenges, stressing that his focus is on rebuilding and strengthening the party’s internal structures.
He further indicated that in the coming weeks, Paul Afoko will embark on a series of engagements with party faithful and the media to outline his vision and strategic leadership plans ahead of the elections
