National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on party members to remain calm, disciplined, and united as President John Dramani Mahama’s administration gradually settles into office.

Mr. Nketia made the appeal in the Kotoso community of the Kwahu Abetifi Constituency, where he addressed grassroots members, constituency executives, ward coordinators, cadres, and Assembly members during a three-day “Thank You Tour.”

He assured supporters that their patience would soon be rewarded as the government's programmes are rolled out.

“Opportunities will come. This government is not leaving anyone behind,” he said, urging party faithful to stay calm and trust the process.

The NDC Chairman also cautioned against internal divisions, warning that unchecked personal ambitions could weaken the party.

Drawing comparisons with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), he said internal fractures had eroded the NPP’s credibility.

“If we do what we want with the positions we have, our party will be divided like the NPP.

But I know that will never happen,” he stated.

Mr. Nketia further criticised the NPP’s leadership contest, describing it as “a contest to hell,” where flagbearer aspirants were publicly attacking each other.

He urged NDC members to avoid such destructive politics and instead remain united behind President Mahama to ensure the successful delivery of the party’s promises.

As part of his visit, Mr. Nketia assured the chiefs and residents of Kotoso that the NDC government would work to address pressing community needs, including roads, potable water, mobile network access, and school infrastructure.

For his part, Nana Kwakyi Owusu Ansah II, Kotosohene, welcomed the Chairman and appealed to the government to urgently address the community’s challenges.

He lamented the poor road network, lack of potable drinking water, unreliable mobile phone service, and the absence of a Junior High School in the area.

The tour, which follows the NDC’s electoral victory, is aimed at expressing gratitude to party supporters while listening to grassroots concerns across constituencies.
