Politics
The leadership of the Yendi College of Health Sciences branch of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has honoured the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MASLOC, Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah, for her outstanding role in empowering young people and contributing to the development of education in the Yendi municipality.

Hajia Abibata received a framed citation from the TESCON executives led by their President, Mr Samuel Abugri Akolbila.

It reads: “This citation is gratefully presented to Madam Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakariah in recognition [of her] sincere assistance, which contributed to the success of TESCON Yendi College of Health Sciences. We wish you all the best in your endeavours. We say Tipagya”.

Hajia Zakariah, who is an aspiring parliamentary candidate of the NPP for Yendi in 2020, was the special guest of honour at the official inauguration of the Yendi College of Health Sciences branch of TESCON recently.

She made a cash donation to the newly-inaugurated TESCON chapter to enhance its operations.

Apart from offering jobs to over 812 youth in the Yendi constituency and empowering more women economically, Hajia Zakariah has also supported many students in the area.

TESCON is a pro-NPP group for tertiary institutions and promotes the ideologies of the party on the various campuses in Ghana and beyond.
