Vetting: NPP Eastern fails 15 parliamentary aspirants

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Eastern Region has failed 15 parliamentary aspirants in its just ended vetting.  

Out of the 79 aspirants who filed their nominations, 15 aspirants from nine constituencies were not recommended to contest for the parliamentary candidates positions in their respective constituencies.

The Party in a statement said detailed report and reasons for their disqualification will be sent to the National Headquarters for consideration and final approval.

A notable person who was failed was private legal practitioner Philip Addison who was seeking to unseat the incumbent and deputy Minister of Information Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei at the Akuapem North constituency.

The party claimed Mr Addison “hasn’t nurtured the party at the constituency”.
