Without us, NPP has “no legs” – First Lady salutes party’s women
First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo has saluted the women of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) describing them as the foundation of the governing party.
According to Mrs Akufo-Addo, the women of the NPP have been “loyal, dedicated, selfless and fully committed” to the course of the party.
“Without them, our party has no legs to stand on,” she added in a Facebook post.
The First Lady said these after she participated in the NPP National Women’s conference which took place in Takoradi over the weekend.
It was the climax of several regional women’s conferences held across the country to strategise ahead of the 2020 elections with the aim of retaining the party in power.
Mrs Akufo-Addo singled out the party Women’s Organiser, Kate Gyamfua, for special praise saying she has been “relentless in igniting the support of our women and making sure it transcends across the country.”
The NPP women ended the conference with a rally at Takoradi where Mrs Samira Bawumia, the wife of the Vice-President, highlighted the government's achievements in the last three years and reiterated the need for Ghanaians to renew the mandate of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP.
