2024 AFCON Beach Soccer: Ghana's Black Sharks in training in Keta

Ghana’s Black Sharks are in training camp in Keta, Volta Region.
The national male beach soccer team are in preparations for the 2024 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Beach Soccer tournament.
They arrived in Keta on Sunday, October 6, 2024, and will depart to Egypt on Tuesday, October 15, for the games centred in Hurghada, Egypt.
Were it not for funding challenges per the Mustapha Ussif-led Ministry of Youth & Sports, the Black Sharks would have started training much earlier, according to the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Beach Soccer Committee, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
Keta, according to the team’s technical division, presented the Black Sharks with a model environment to adequately get ready for the challenge ahead.
According to Julius Caesar Bekley, the Black Sharks Assistant Coach, a 17-man squad were in training. From this, a final 12-man squad would be selected to represent Ghana in Egypt.
Ghana’s Black Sharks knocked out Côte d'Ivoire's Sand Elephants, winning 10-5 on aggregate to qualify for CAF’s 2024 AFCON Beach Soccer.
In Group A, Ghana - in their third appearance at the games – plays against Egypt, Morocco and Tanzania.
It is Ghana v Egypt on October 19; Ghana v Morocco on October 21; then Ghana v Tanzania on October 22.
In Group B are reigning champion Senegal, Mozambique, Malawi, and Mauritania.
