On the back of his two-goal showing in his first game for his new club Bibiani Gold Stars, Abednego Tetteh has waxed lyrical about the team’s chances of claiming the BetPawa Premier League title this season, saying, “It is possible.”

Abednego Tetteh joined Bibiani Gold Stars switching from Kumasi-based King Faisal.

After his exploits powered Bechem United to their MTN FA Cup triumph in 2016, a bumper move to the Sudanese club, Al Hilal Omdurman, was too good to resist. He would later win the Sudan Premier League title with the club in 2017.

After his time with the Sudanese club, he earned a move to Ethiopia with Jimma Aba Buna, before returning to Sudan, this time, with Al-Hilal El-Obeid.

Abednego Tetteh later joined Real Kashmir before moving to TRAU, all in India.

After nearly four years plying his trade abroad, he returned to his home country to sign for Ghanaian giant Accra Hearts of Oak, penning a three-year contract.

He went on to win the MTN FA Cup with Hearts before agreeing to a mutual termination of his contract after some fifteen months.

A move to King Faisal was intended to revitalise his seemingly limping career, but that did not appear to have gone well, as he saw very limited game time.

When The Golden Boys, Bibiani Gold Stars came calling, it was a move he could not resist. He would go on to have a debut to remember after signing with the Bibiani-based club. He scored two goals to power his new team to a rare 2-3 away win at Tamale City at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.

Speaking to Class Sports, Monday, January 30, 2023, concerning his debut day heroics for his new club, Abednego Tetteh remarked that his new team had a blend of professional and experienced players, and given how easy it was for him “to gel with them” within the limited time that he had been with them, he was sure of big things to come.

“For me, I have seen a bunch of professional players, and then, experienced players, because I found it easy to gel with them and I love to work with those guys; they are very good guys, and the unity in the team is working – so I hope we can do more than what we are doing now,” he said.

Sitting 5th on the league log, trailing league leaders Aduana Stars by two (2) points, Abednego Tetteh believes that it is possible that the club can go on to win the league, thereby etching the team in the history books of Ghana football.

“In this world, everything is possible, and I know it is possible, nothing is impossible – so we will try our best and write our names in the history books of Ghana football once again,” he added.

With the Bibiani Gold Stars seemingly struggling for goals after scoring some 16 goals after matchday 14, Tetteh’s early goal-scoring form could prove vital in the club’s drive to make history.

The Bibiani-based club has won the second-highest number of games [6] along with Real Tamale United, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Accra Great Olympics, and Accra Hearts of Oak, with only Aduana Stars, Accra Lions, and Bechem United winning more games [7] after match-day 14.

Match-day 15 will see Bibiani Gold Stars battle newly promoted side Kotoku Royals at the Cape Coast stadium, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
