C.K. Akunnor to be appointed Black Stars coach
The Ghana Football Association is expected to hand over the Black Stars coaching job to C.K Akunnor, classfmonline.com gathers.
It is, however, unclear whether or not Akunnor would be an interim coach.
Pundits have linked the assistant coach of the Black Stars to the top post.
Sources say government officials at the Sports Ministry had made their decision explicitly clear to the GFA that they want a local coach and nothing else.
The FA, our sources say, had been told to either go local or self-fund its activities should it opt for a foreigner.
C.K. Akunnor was drafted into the Black Stars as an assistant coach by Kwesi Appiah ahead of Ghana’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome.
