Don't rush youth to training – GTF to clubs
Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) President Isaac Duah has called on tennis clubs not to rush their juniors back to training following President Nana Akufo-Addo’s directive for non-contact sports to return.
Mr Duah stated that it would be difficult for the juniors to observe the safety protocols set by the government when adults are not present, so, the clubs should not rush them back to training.
“We should be careful with our juniors because even with the schools, the primary schools and JHSs are supposed to be at home. So, we should not rush our children to also come to the tennis court because it’s difficult for them to observe the protocols when they are not adults, so, we should be mindful of that.”
Tennis is included in the 14 sports announced by the National Sports Authority (NSA) that are allowed to resume training sessions following President Nana Akufo-Addo’s directives issued on 31 May 2020.
