E/R: Bryan Acheampong pledges completion of Nkawkaw Sports Stadium in four months
Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has reaffirmed his commitment to completing the ongoing reconstruction of the Nkawkaw Sports Stadium within the next four months.
The ambitious redevelopment project, which had previously experienced delays, is set to deliver a modern, FIFA-standard sports facility aimed at revitalising football and sporting activities in the Kwahu enclave.
The new stadium will boast a 105m x 68m pitch with a 10-metre wall allowance, a 3,000-seater bleacher on the western side, and additional 1,000-seater platforms behind each goalpost.
Once completed, it is expected to become a hub for sporting excellence and a catalyst for youth development in the region.
Speaking during a stakeholders' engagement in Nkawkaw, Dr. Acheampong assured residents that construction would be completed within the specified timeframe.
He reiterated his vision to deliver a world-class facility that will rekindle interest in local football and attract major sporting events to the Kwahu area.
The Chief Operating Officer of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Mr. Yaw Gyamfi Kusi Awere, who led an NSA delegation to the site, commended Dr. Acheampong for his unwavering commitment.
He pledged the NSA's support in restoring the glory days of football in the region.
Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Tamimu Halidu, also lauded Dr. Acheampong’s efforts and appealed to residents to rally behind the project regardless of political affiliations.
“Development should never be politicised. The reconstruction of this stadium is a game-changer for the people of Kwahu, and we must all support it in unity,” he emphasised.
