FA elections slated for September 27

Sports News
Football Administrator and a Director of Berekum Chelsea Football Club Nana Oduro Sarfo has told Class Sports the elections for the Ghana Football Association would take place on the 27 September 2019.

Congress - which is the highest decision body will either adopt or reject amendments made to the statutes when the FA convene an Extra-Ordinary Congress. If the new amendments and electoral code are approved, it will pave way for the election of a new leader for the Ghana Football Association. Members of the old FA leadership including Wilfred Kwaku Osei, George Afriyie and Kurt Okraku are said to be lacing up their boots for the Presidential race.

“Nominations would be opened on 17 August. So on the 17th of August the candidates would go and pick their forms. The modalities would be given to them as to when they will be going for vetting, returning the forms and other things. After that when you are cleared you would start your campaign.

“There is no candidate so far as I am concerned as nobody has yet to pick a form. The election would be held on the 27th of September. I know George Afriyie, Wilfred Osei Kwaku, Kurt Okraku, Kudjoe Fianoo, Nana Yaw Amponsah and Fred Pappoe are contesting but let us wait and see who picks the forms when they are told to do so,” he added.

The elections would be the fourth in the democratic history of the FA.
