Fifa report: Ghana has no professional football club
Ghana has no professional football club, the Fifa Professional Football Report 2019 has revealed.
The report said out of the 64 teams playing in the country’s Division One and elite division, per the requirements prescribed by the world football governing body, none of the teams could call itself a professional football club.
The report focused on issues including the implementation of club licensing regulations, player labour among other information given by 211 member associations.
The report further indicated that there are 600 professional football clubs in Africa with Senegal leading with 48 clubs.
Tunisia was found to have 38 professional football clubs; Cote d’Ivoire – 38, with Zambia having 36 followed by Cameroon which was found to have 33 professional football clubs.
