GFA President appointed CAF 2nd Vice President
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has been appointed as the Second Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), marking a significant milestone in his administrative career.
The announcement was made by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe during a press conference in Accra on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
Okraku, who was elected unopposed to the CAF Executive Committee in March, was nominated by President Motsepe and subsequently approved by the Executive Committee during its meeting in Accra.
He succeeds Ahmed Yahya in the role and joins a refreshed leadership team aimed at enhancing inclusivity and regional representation within African football's governing body.
The newly appointed CAF Vice Presidents are:
First Vice President: Fouzi Lekjaa (Morocco), replacing Senegal FA President Augustine Senghor.
Second Vice President: Kurt Okraku (Ghana).
Third Vice President: Pierre-Alain Mounguengui (Gabon), representing Central Africa.
Fourth Vice President: Bestine Kazadi Ditabala (Democratic Republic of Congo), the first woman to hold this position, reflecting CAF's commitment to gender equality.
Fifth Vice President: Feizal Sidat (Mozambique), bringing extensive experience from his tenure as President of the Mozambican Football Federation.
These appointments underscore CAF's dedication to fostering diversity and unity across the continent's football landscape.
President Motsepe expressed confidence that the new leadership will drive positive change and development within African football.
Okraku's elevation to this prominent role is seen as a testament to Ghana's growing influence in continental football administration. His leadership is expected to contribute significantly to CAF's ongoing efforts to promote the sport across Africa
