The Ghana Institution of Surveyors took to the streets of Accra on Saturday, 15 February 2020, for a health walk to start their 15th Surveyor’s Week Celebrations themed: Surveying And Emerging Technologies For National Development.

The day started with aerobics at the Aviation Social Centre, before a walk through the Airport streets and back to the starting point.

Head of the Planning Committee, Surveyor Franklin Liggie, said: “Surveyors are busy people. We are doing this to strengthen our bones for us to get ready for the week. All the stress that we have gone through doing hard work and helping the nation to develop, we try to calm our system down”.

He further entreated Ghanaians to make exercising a habit.

“Exercise, as we all know, is very important. As we age, the system becomes rigid and we are not flexible again. So, when you exercise daily, the blood flow is also increased and the body become flexible”, he told the media.

The week-long celebration continues with an orientation and induction of newly-admitted members, an Akwaaba night, and a formal Opening of Conference and Presentations.

There will also be the Presidential Lecture and 51st Annual General Meeting at the Cedi Conference Room of the University of Ghana Economics Department, Legon Campus.

An Investiture and Presidential Ball will be the penultimate event with a Thanksgiving Service climaxing the celebrations.
