Ghana's Para -Powerlifting athletes shine in WPPO World Championship in Georgia

Ghana's Para-Powerlifting athletes are performing exceptionally well at the ongoing WPPO World Championship in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Isaac Obeng secured first place in the Men’s Up to 59kg category, while Patricia Nyamekye achieved third place in the Women’s Up to 67kg event.
These achievements contribute to Ghana's goal of securing more qualification slots for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
The Tbilisi 2024 Para-Powerlifting World Championship, sanctioned by the World Para -Powerlifting Organization, serves as a crucial qualification event for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which will be held in France from August 28 to September 8, 2024.
This championship is a pivotal step in the athletes' journey towards the Paralympics.
The National Paralympic Committee of Ghana (NPC-Ghana) has expressed profound gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the French Embassy in Ghana for their support in enabling the team's participation in this significant qualifier
