Gold Stars coach dedicates historic league title to late Michael Osei

Bibiani GoldStars head coach, Frimpong Manso, has dedicated the club’s first-ever Ghana Premier League title to the late Michael Osei, a former coach who played a pivotal role in the team’s rise.
Osei was instrumental in shaping the team after their promotion to the top flight, but sadly passed away a few months after parting ways with the club.
Manso, who took over from Osei, guided the Miners to a historic title triumph in the just-ended season.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite Show, Manso expressed strong support for calls to honour his predecessor.
“I fully agree with those suggesting that we should dedicate the trophy to the late Michael Osei,” he said.
Reflecting on the season, Manso revealed that the club’s title ambitions gradually took shape as the campaign progressed.
“Before the start of the Premier League season, I was hoping GoldStars could finish in the top six, but along the way, I realised that we could win the title,” he explained.
GoldStars will host Medeama SC on Saturday, June 14, at DUN’s Park for their coronation match, where they will be officially crowned champions.
The club is set to represent Ghana in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.
