Hudson-Odoi shines in Chelsea debut

The England international played a crucial role in his side’s victory, setting up striker Olivier Giroud with a pinpointed low-cross, moments before the half-time interval to open the scoring from close range with a flick to beat Brighton goalkeeper Ryan on his near-post.
Hudson-Odoi, who was making his first premier league start under manager Maurizio Sarri, was one of Chelsea’s best players in the opening exchanges of the game, creating three chances, the best individual tally of the game, and coming close to scoring on a number of occasions.
In a post-match interview, the youngster revealed he was not carried away by his performance and the trust imposed in him by his manager and will continue to work hard to improve his chances of getting more regular game time under the Italian’s watch.
Chelsea currently sit 5th on the league log, level on points with London rivals Arsenal, who sit 4th and a point adrift Tottenham with six games to the end of the campaign.
