I feel under-celebrated – Polo
Ghana’s 1978 Africa Cup of Nations Winner, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed, affectionately known as Mohammed Polo, has said he feels he is not celebrated enough by Ghanaians despite his exploits in football.
Former Black Stars captain, Abedi Ayew, in a recent interview named the “Dribbling Magician” as his idol for his skills and exceptional ball control.
But speaking on Nkunim FM, the Ex-Hearts of Oak midfielder wished Ghanaians will relish his legacy more.
“All that Abedi Pele said about me was absolutely true. It was very difficult to take away the ball from me on the pitch. But you know something, I always feel sad because I think Ghanaians are under-celebrating me looking at what I did for the country,” he stated.
Mohammed Polo joined the Black Stars at age 17 from 1973 to 1985, winning the AFCON once and the 1975 GFA Footballer of the Year award.
