Justice Blay accuses Kwame Opoku of snatching his fiancée

Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Justice Blay has accused his former teammate, Kwame Opoku, of betraying his trust by allegedly dating his fiancée behind his back.
Speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Pure FM, Blay opened up about the personal fallout between the two players.
He claimed the betrayal began shortly after he introduced his then-girlfriend to Opoku, whom he considered a close friend.
“I introduced my girlfriend to Kwame Opoku because I trusted him,” Blay said.
“But not long after that, I started having problems with her.
That’s when I found out he was secretly seeing her.”
Blay added that he grew suspicious when his partner began revealing intimate details about events within the team’s clubhouse.
“She somehow knew everything going on at the clubhouse—every move I made.
At first, I thought the security man was leaking information, but during a confrontation, he admitted it was Opoku who had been telling her.”
Blay said he reported the incident to head coach Prosper Ogum and the team manager.
The revelation, he noted, damaged his relationship with Opoku, even though they remained professional on the field.
“Things were never the same between us in camp. We managed to keep it from affecting our game, but I could never trust him again,” he stated.
Kwame Opoku rejoined Asante Kotoko in January 2025 after three years away.
Blay, who signed with the club in 2022, was released in June after being told he was not in the club’s future plans.
As of now, Kwame Opoku has not issued any public response to the allegations.
