Oct. 2024 FIFA rankings: Black Stars drop 3 places to 73rd globally
The Ghana Black Stars are at number 73 on the FIFA World Rankings.
The list was released today, Thursday, October 24.
Previously, the Black Stars occupied the 70th position. Dropping three positions down is as a result of their abysmal performance in the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, specifically when they recently played Sudan in Ghana (0:0), and in Libya (2:0).
In September's rankings, Ghana slipped from the 64th position to 70th. They had been pinned down 1:0 by Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, Ashanti Region. Later, they drew 1-1 with Niger in Berkane, Morocco.

In Africa, the Black Stars have dropped from position 12 to 14.
Meanwhile, Morocco has risen to the first spot, pushing Senegal to the second position. Egypt, Côte d'Ivoire, and Tunisia follow in that order.

Ghana goes up against Angola and Niger to conclude the qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON, which will take place in Morocco.
