Qatar 2022: Ghana, Nigeria to renew rivalry in World Cup play offs

The Black Stars will renew their rivalry with Super Eagles of Nigeria for a place in the 2022 World Cup when the two teams clash later in March to secure a spot at the global showpiece.
The two West African nations were paired for the third and final round of the African qualifiers for the World Cup held today, Saturday, 22 January 2022.
The draw held in Douala, Cameroon was conducted by CAF Competitions Director Samson Adamu, assisted by CAF legends El Hadji Diouf and Emmanuel Adebayor.
The Black Stars have been in a poor shape exiting the ongoing Afcon competition at the group stages without a win.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have been in great shape being the only country to have won all three group stage matches securing the maximum nine points for qualification to the round 16th stage.
In other parings, Mohammed Salah’s Egypt will play Sadio Mane’s Senegal.
Cameroon will face Algeria, Dr Congo plays Morocco whilst Mali plays Tunisia.
