Sports Ministry shown commitment to developing sports – Nunoo Mensah
The President of the Ghana Olympics Committee (GOC), Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah has lauded the sport ministry for the untiring support given to the various athletes during this period of coronavirus.
“In the last two months, the minister of youth and sports, myself and a few others, including the National Sports Authority (NSA) Director and the Football Association have been involved in a lot of discussions on what to do, especially to our national team athletes”, he said.
He made this call at a press briefing on the details of easing restrictions for sports in Accra on Thursday, 4 June 2020.
“I am happy about the initiative the minister and deputy have taken in trying to secure funding from the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) through the ministry of finance, so, we support the national athletes, especially those qualified for the Olympics and those who are yet to go through their qualifiers”, he stated.
He added that his outfit appreciates what the ministry is doing for athletes.
