VP Naana Opoku-Agyemang on working visit to Sports Ministry, reaffirms gov't support
Vice President of the Republic, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has paid a working visit to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation as part of her ongoing engagements with key sectors of government.
She was received on Thursday, January 22, 2026, by a high-level delegation including Minister for Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams, Chief Director of the Ministry Mrs Wilhelmina Asamoah, President of Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, and National Sports Authority (NSA) Director Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.

During the visit, the vice president commended the ministry and the wider sports industry for their contributions toward advancing sports development in Ghana. She reaffirmed her commitment to the sector, assuring stakeholders of the timely release of logistics and resources to enhance operational efficiency and overall performance.
A key highlight of the visit was the presentation of a national team jersey to the vice president by Minister Kofi Adams, symbolising unity, national pride, and the government’s commitment to supporting Ghanaian sports.
The jersey bore the vice president's name and hashtag #EmpowerHerGame.
