WPA 2025 Grand Prix: Zinabu Issah grabs 2nd medal in Marrakech

Ghanaian Para-athlete Zinabu Issah has won her second silver medal at the ongoing World Para Athletics (WPA) 2025 Marrakech Grand Prix.
Mustering a strong throw of 8.54 metres Saturday, April 26, 2025, Zinabu clinched the silver in the Women’s F57 Shot Put event, settling behind the Nigerian gold winner who threw 8.94 metres.
Earlier on Friday, however, she bagged gold in the women’s F57 discus with a throw of 29.25 metres, breaking her existing record of 26.66 metres set at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
An African star, she is on the threshold of qualifying for the Women’s F57 Shot Put and F57 Discus Throw at the prestigious WPA 2025 World Championships and the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
First, however, she must ace her participation in the WPA Paris 2025 Grand Prix and the All-Women WPA 2025 Grand Prix in the Czech Republic.
