Lesotho bans all travels to prevent COVID-19
The government of Lesotho has suspended all travels from and into the country.
In a letter dated Tuesday, 10 March 2020 addressed to the Executive Secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in Gaborone, Botswana, and signed by the Principal Secretary and National Contact Point, Motena Tsolo, the government of Lesotho said the “embargo is imposed as a precaution against the risk of infection by the coronavirus associated with international travel.”
Meanwhile, in Ghana, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has suspended, temporarily, all foreign travels for all public officials, as part of measures the government has taken to prevent the entry of COVID-19.
In a circular issued by the Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, and addressed to all sector ministers and their deputies, regional ministers and their deputies, all metropolitan, municipal, and district chief executives, and all heads of government agencies, the Chief of Staff stressed that only essential and critical foreign travels will be considered and, thereafter, approved.
