The General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Joshua Ansah, has warned that organised labour could embark on strike action if concerns over alleged unequal salary adjustments in the public sector are not addressed.

Speaking at the 2026 Annual Labour Conference in Ho on Friday, June 26, Mr Ansah called on the government to ensure fairness and equity in salary administration across the public service amid reports of selective pay increases.

He said organised labour had taken note of claims that some categories of public sector workers had received salary increases of up to 100 per cent, describing the reports as concerning and calling for clarification.

Mr Ansah stated that if the reports are confirmed, organised labour would demand a fair distribution of national resources.

He added that industrial action remains a legitimate last resort for workers when negotiations fail to produce satisfactory outcomes.
