24-Hour Economy: NPA leads inspection tour of Tema oil facilities

News
Dr. Dramani Bukari leading the team to do the inspection

A joint team led by the Deputy Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Dramani Bukari, has embarked on a comprehensive field tour of key oil installations in Tema as part of preparations for the rollout of the government’s 24-hour economy initiative.

The visit, conducted on November 17, covered the BOST Energies (APD) facility, Quantum Terminals, and Sentuo Oil Refinery. It forms part of the mandate of the 24-hour Economy Sub-committee, which is reviewing downstream petroleum operations to identify the interventions required for a seamless nationwide implementation of the programme.

The ongoing exercise will be extended to all fuel installations across the country.

Dr. Bukari, who also chairs the Infrastructure and Technology Sub-committee for the petroleum downstream sector, said the tour was crucial to assessing existing operational challenges and determining the support the government must provide to facilitate a smooth transition into round-the-clock operations.

He noted that the move reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure, enhancing efficiency, and preparing industry players for the opportunities and demands of a fully functional 24-hour economy.
