CAGD announces 2026 'Pad Day' schedule for public sector workers
The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has issued a formal notice announcing the payment schedule for salaries and wages of public sector workers for the year 2026.
According to the notice, all civil servants, employees of the Ghana Education Service (GES), and other public servants whose emoluments are paid through the CAGD will receive their salaries on specific dates outlined for the year.
The announcement forms part of efforts by the Department to ensure transparency, predictability, and effective financial planning for public sector workers nationwide.
The CAGD urged all affected employees to take note of the approved payment dates and plan accordingly.
It further assured public servants of its continued commitment to the timely and efficient payment of salaries and wages.
The Department is responsible for managing government payroll and ensuring that public sector workers are paid accurately and promptly in line with government policy.
Public servants are expected to rely on the published schedule as the official guide for salary payments throughout the 2026 financial year.
