The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Mr Osman Ayariga, has urged voters in the Akwatia Constituency not to feel intimidated by the heavy security presence ahead of the upcoming by-election.

He assured them that the police and other security agencies were deployed solely to maintain peace and order.

Speaking during a community engagement with residents, Mr Ayariga emphasised that the role of the security services is to safeguard voters and ensure that the election is conducted fairly and peacefully.

“Don’t be alarmed by the presence of police officers. They are here to protect you and to provide security so that everyone can freely exercise their right to vote,” he said.

He encouraged constituents to turn out in their numbers on election day and vote without fear, stressing that their voices and choices were crucial in shaping the future of Akwatia.

“The most important thing is that you come out boldly and vote. Do not let fear or intimidation keep you away from making your voices heard,” Mr Ayariga added.

Mr Ayariga further called on political parties, stakeholders, and the electorate to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the process, saying that peaceful participation would set a positive example for Ghana’s democratic tradition.
