2023 Ghana Mining Expo coming in July | Duker chairs planning c’ttee

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources responsible for Mines, George Mireku Duker has on behalf of the Sector Minister, Samuel A. Jinapor met with members of the Ghana Mining Expo Committee on Wednesday, 31st May, 2023, to plan and chart the way forward for the organisation of the 2023 edition of the programme.
He applauded the team for organising an insightful programme in the past years but, however, admonished a technical committee set up by the Ministry and Chaired by the CEO of the Minerals Commission, Mr. Martin Ayisi, to anchor this year’s edition on the Ministry's activities while charging them to accelerate efforts and make the 2023 edition of the Ghana Mining Expo a resounding success.
Mr Duker disclosed that the South African Embassy has shown keen interest in the programme with plans to sponsor the event.
The Deputy Minister underscored the importance of Green minerals on the world minerals market today and urged the committee to ensure that it is a factor dully considered in the theme for this year's programme.
The Western Regional Minister, Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah (MP) who led a team from his Region, described as the Mining hub of Ghana, gave an update on the general overview of the three-day programme which has been previously held in the Region.
Members of the committee were offered the opportunity to share their thoughts and contributions on the organisation of the entire programme which the Deputy Minister instructed to be fast tracked in view of limited time.
This year's Ghana Mining Expo which is scheduled for July 2023, is expected to attract Captains and players of the Mining Industry on the African continent and beyond.
