Angel Group CEO engages Free Zones Authority on strategic expansion plans

The Chief Executive Officer of the Angel Group of Companies, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, on May 2, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) as part of efforts to explore new avenues for industrial growth and export expansion.
Dr. Oteng was warmly received by the CEO of the Authority, Dr. Mary Awusi, who described the engagement as a significant step toward strengthening private sector participation in Ghana’s Free Zones Programme.
The purpose of the visit was to initiate discussions on securing a Free Zones License for Angel Group, aligning with the company’s broader strategic objective to expand its industrial operations and enhance export capacity.
During the meeting, Dr. Oteng outlined his forward-looking vision for the Group’s growth, a vision that strongly resonates with the objectives of the Free Zones Scheme.
Dr. Awusi, in response, highlighted the comprehensive suite of incentives available under the programme, including competitive tax benefits, access to regional and international markets—especially under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)—and a range of institutional support mechanisms designed to boost industrial competitiveness.
“Given Angel Group’s track record in local manufacturing, value addition, and job creation, we believe the company is well-positioned to thrive within the Free Zones ecosystem,” Dr. Awusi stated.
She reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to providing full support and guidance throughout the application process and beyond, expressing optimism about the potential impact of this partnership on Ghana’s broader industrial and economic development.
