Bawumia addresses Cambridge Africa Business Conference today!
Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to deliver the keynote address today, 17th May 2025, at the prestigious Cambridge University Africa Business Conference in the United Kingdom.
The event, taking place at the Judge Business School, forms part of Cambridge University’s flagship engagements aimed at convening business leaders, policymakers, and innovators to discuss Africa’s economic future.
Dr Bawumia is expected to speak on the conference theme: Africa’s Digital Transformation: Building Resilient Economies Through Innovation. His keynote will explore how digitalisation can be harnessed as a cornerstone of economic transformation across the continent.
Drawing from Ghana’s recent progress, he is anticipated to share insights on how technology has improved public service delivery, boosted financial inclusion, and modernised payment systems.
The Cambridge Africa Business Conference is renowned for attracting key stakeholders shaping Africa’s business and economic trajectory.
Dr Bawumia’s invitation reflects his leadership in advancing digital policies during his tenure as Vice President, and his continuing role as a thought leader on economic innovation in Africa.
His presence at the conference underscores the growing interest in Ghana’s digital governance model as a benchmark for other African nations.
Prior to the Cambridge event, Dr Bawumia participated in the 2025 International Democratic Union (IDU) Forum in Brussels, Belgium, from 14th to 16th May.
At the IDU Forum, he contributed to discussions on the topic: Trade Wars, Tariff Battles and the New Geoeconomic Order: How to Restore Stability, reinforcing his role on the global stage as a prominent voice on economic and geopolitical matters.
