Disregard dubious funding programme for SMEs – GIPC warns public

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) has cautioned the public against what it describes as a dubious funding programme for Small and Medium Scale businesses, as captured in a Google Docx file, making rounds on social media.
The programme claimed to have been initiated by the GIPC, encourages interested businesses to submit key company details for fund distribution.
The dubious programme is said to be initiated by GIPC in partnership with the Ministry of Finance and the African Development Bank.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, 16 May 2026, the GIPC said: “It has not sanctioned any such arrangement to distribute funds under the tag “Business Development and Funding Programme for SMEs”, as being spread.
It, therefore, advised the “general public to disregard the dubious notice in circulation, and exercise caution in this regard.”
