Emirates resumes flights to Ghana today

Emirates Airlines will from today, Thursday, 13 January 2022, resume flights to Ghana and 4 other destinations according to a statement issued on its website.
“With effect from January 13, Emirates will resume passenger services to and from Guinea (CKY), Côte d’Ivoire (ABJ), Ghana (ACC), Uganda (EBB) and Republic of Angola (Luanda).”
In December 2021, the airline extended its initial 48-hour ban on flights indefinitely from Accra to Dubai.
A broadcast sent to trade partners on Tuesday, 28 December 2021 said: “Emirates flight suspension from Accra to Dubai effective December 27, 2021, is now extended until further notice.”
The airline, however, continued Dubai to Accra flights for passengers holding confirmed bookings and meeting the entry requirements for Accra.
The carriage of passengers to and from Abidjan was also suspended.
The suspension of flights, AviationGhana sources said, is linked to the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded on outbound flights arriving in Dubai from Accra and Abidjan.
