The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Simon Madjie, has visited the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, with a walk-through of Tip Toe Lane, the bustling hub for mobile phone trading and repairs.

The visit formed part of his stakeholder engagement initiative, aimed at directly connecting with local traders and addressing their concerns regarding the activities of foreign businesses operating in sectors reserved for Ghanaians.

Mr. Madjie assured the traders that President John Dramani Mahama’s government remains committed to protecting local enterprises while encouraging investments that promote inclusivity and sustainable economic growth.

He was accompanied by executives of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), led by President Joseph Obeng, who lauded the engagement as an example of proactive leadership and a step toward strengthening collaboration between government and traders.

The GIPC CEO emphasised that the Centre’s mandate goes beyond attracting foreign investment, stressing that its responsibility is also to ensure that such investments complement rather than displace Ghanaian businesses.
