Ghana Free Zones Authority trains 29 newly licensed companies
The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has organised a training session for twenty-nine newly licensed companies at its Head Office in Accra to equip them with the knowledge required to operate effectively under the Free Zones Scheme.
The training, coordinated by the Authority’s Compliance Department, was designed to guide the new enterprises through the regulatory and operational framework governing free zone operations in Ghana.
Welcoming participants, the Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Mary Awusi, reaffirmed GFZA’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for investors.
She stressed the importance of adhering to the Free Zones Act to promote sustainable business growth and contribute to national development.
Dr. Awusi also assured the companies of the Authority’s continued support as they commence operations.
Officials from key departments—including Compliance, Monitoring, Administration, Management Information Systems, Marketing and Investment Promotion, Corporate Affairs, Public Relations and Aftercare, Finance, and Business Development, Research and AfCFTA—took participants through their respective roles, operational procedures and regulatory requirements.
The sessions provided practical insights to help the companies integrate seamlessly into the Free Zones framework and fully benefit from available incentives such as tax exemptions and access to regional and international markets.
The engagement further strengthened collaboration between the Authority and the newly licensed enterprises, ensuring they begin operations with a clear understanding of their responsibilities.
GFZA reiterated its commitment to positioning Ghana as a competitive hub for trade and investment within the region.
