GRIDCo crowned Company of the Year (Power) at Ghana Energy Awards

The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) beat competition from the Volta River Authority, the Electricity Company of Ghana, Alpha TND, Sunon Asogli and Wilkins Engineering to pick up the Energy Company of the Year (Power) at the 2022 Edition of the Ghana Energy Awards over the weekend.
GRIDCo, in June 2022, commissioned its 2nd biggest substation in Ghana, the Kasoa Bulk Supply Point.
The company also commissioned its expansive 330kV Kumasi to Bolgatanga Transmission Line covering substations at Anwomaso Kumasi, Kintampo, Tamale, Bolgatanga.
The two projects have led to an increase in power reliability and voltage stabilisation in the northern sector and in the southern sector respectively.
The project reflects GRIDCo’s commitment to invest in projects which reinforce the grid, stabilise voltages and ensure power supply reliability not only in Ghana but for Ghana’s West African neighbours Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin and Cote d’Ivoire.
It was one out of three award categories that the company was nominated while an Engineering Technician, Naomi Amoah with the GRIDCo Tema Area was a nominee in the Rising Star Category.
